  • Ares Download

Ares you having connection problems with Ares?

Here you will find an answer to some of the problems of past P2P file sharing communities. Ares download support is quickly becoming sought after information. These are some of the common problems associated with an Ares download.

    1. Check your firewall. It's entirely possible that your firewall is simply not letting Ares through at all. All you need to do is add an exception for Ares. This isn't as much a problem for systems running Windows XP as it is for those with Vista. If you've added an exception to your Vista firewall and it's still not working, see if you have your antivirus software running. Anti-virus programs are notoriously picky, so you may have to add an exception here as well.

    2. Change your upload bandwidth to the lowest setting. A lot of  people have slow downloads because they placed their upload settings too high. Lowering them will increase your download speeds. This is fine if you're on a slow connection and you don't want your Ares download to overwhelm your surfing, chatting, and other things you're trying to do online. Now, if you have a connection speed that is fairly fast, go ahead and bump your bandwidth setting up to somewhere between the 5 and 10 range. You can even set it at 0 to signify “unlimited” bandwidth! This will help you get your downloads as quick as possible so you won't be waiting hours on end for small file downloads.

    3. Check to make sure you have the latest version of the software. You can visit http://www.aresdownload.net for support and general questions or you can visit http://www.ares.net for software support questions.

    4. Make sure you only have one version of Ares running. Sometimes when people update their version of Ares, they forget to uninstall the older version of Ares completely. So, go to C:/Program Files/Ares and delete the "Ares" folder after you have run the uninstaller.
